SUPERIOR SPIDER-MAN OMNIBUS VOL. 1
1 / of1
One of the most memorable sagas in Spider-Man history, when Otto Octavius took over the body of Peter Parker!
When a dying Doctor Octopus swaps his mind into Peter Parker’s body, he sentences his accursed enemy to oblivion — and sets out to prove that he is the smarter, stronger…Superior Spider-Man! Upgrading Spidey’s costume and arsenal, Otto Octavius works wonders for “Peter’s” scientific career — but his much more violent approach to crimefighting doesn’t sit well with the Avengers! The ruthless new Spider-Man battles — and brutalizes — his way through Peter’s rogues’ gallery, including the Hobgoblin, the Black Cat and the Sinister Six. But will Otto’s fiercest fight be against the resurgent Green Goblin…or whatever is left inside his mind of the one, true Peter Parker? The modern classic Spider-Man saga that shocked the world is collected in a truly Superior Omnibus!

Dan Slott has built a loyal fan base by combining old-school fun with stories and characterizations friendly to new readers. Following his run on She-Hulk, Slott moved into the upper echelon of Marvel writers, launching Avengers: The Initiative and taking the reins on Mighty Avengers from Brian Michael Bendis. When Marvel gave Spider-Man a fresh start in 2008, Slott was one of several rotating writers on the thrice-monthly Amazing Spider-Man. Slott became the writer most closely identified with the web-slinger’s “Brand New Day” era, and the title hit the “Big Time” when he took over as full-time writer for a decade-long run filled with stunning adventures. Slott has also turned his talents to other iconic Marvel heroes, including soaring the spaceways with Silver Surfer; helming Tony Stark: Iron Man toward Iron Man 2020; and masterminding the glorious return of Fantastic Four, leading to his long-awaited “Reckoning War.”
Like many British-born comic-book creators, Richard Elson has an extensive background in U.K. series such as The Beano and the venerable science-fiction anthology 2000AD. Elson is also recognized for his artwork on Sonic the Comic. His pairing with writer Kieron Gillen on Thor led to a subsequent collaboration on Journey into Mystery.
Artist Humberto Ramos made his American comics debut in 1994 with DC’s Impulse, featuring the Flash’s brash grandson. In 1998, Ramos launched the creator-owned Crimson under Wildstorm’s Cliffhanger imprint, illustrating the title for more than two years. He then moved to Marvel, becoming one of the most recognizable and innovative talents in comics. Seamlessly blending both Eastern and Western styles, the artist’s artist has worked on many of Marvel’s most iconic characters — including Spider-Man, Wolverine and the X-Men — in addition to a run on the fan-favorite Runaways. In recent years, Ramos brought his kinetic artwork to the pages Extraordinary X-Men and Champions.
